Shelter Spotlight: Jay Z Follow Up

Yesterday in my post “Shelter Spotlight: Jay Z”, I introduced you to this handsome hunk. Today, I would like to give you some more detailed information about him. Here is what Jay Z’s advocate told me about him:

Jay Z is approximately 3 years old, and 60 pounds. In March of 2016, he was found tied to a fence outside. When brought to the shelter, Jay was not available for adoption for a few months because he was very reactive behind the kennel gate; however, once he settled in it became obvious that he was a very smart, good boy. He loves displaying different tricks he has learned like paw and often offers it before he was even asked (he likes to show off).

While Jay Z gets along with other dogs, he seems to like females much better. While he does not display aggression against any of the other shelter dogs, he is not overly friendly. Jay Z absolutely can not live in a home with cats, and any children should be older (partly because of his fondness for his toys and partly because we have no history prior to his arrival at the Yonkers animal shelter).

Jay Z’s favorite activities include walks and playing with his favorite toy–a rubber tire. Often when out on walks, he will even bring this toy with him. He can always be out happily on his leash walking, and is a favorite to many of our volunteers when they see him strolling along!

Please continue to share and help me find Jay Zs forever family! I just know they are out there waiting for him to complete their family. ❤️
