Shelter Spotlight: Sheana, Looking For Love

This is Sheana, this beautiful girl has been waiting for her forever home since April 2014, making her the second longest residents the Hempstead Animal Shelter. To me, this is just SO extremely heartbreaking as I honestly can’t understand how a beautiful dog like this can be overlooked for so long.

Sheana has the best personality and has so much love to give, crawling into your lap and kissing you non-stop. While Sheana is a little wary of new people, the right owner can absolutely help her conquer her fears. I have a dog in my home with similar fears, honestly, all it takes is some patients and consistency, it’s no reason to give up on a family member.

Sheana has been bounced around 11 times! From shelter, to rescue, to adopters, training facilities and then back to the Hempstead Shelter. This beautiful girl is DESPERATE for a home!

Sheana was PHYSICALLY ABUSED by her original owner so her fear is understandable. Due to her abusive past and being bounced around from place to place, she has become nervous when meeting new people, especially men. With slow introduction, Sheana blossoms in to the most loving and cuddly dog.

Sheana is a beautiful 5 year old brindle and white Boxer/Terrier-PitBull. She is spayed, house trained, crate trained, and gets along with other dogs. She needs a forever home as fast as possible, a shelter is no place to spend your life, there’s just too many hours spent in “doggie jail”, to me that’s not really living for a dog, so PLEASE help!

Sheana is looking for a quite adult only home. She can live with calm temperament large dogs and someone who can accept doggie hugs and cuddles.

Please head over to Sheana’s Facebook page, like and share. Help me network this gorgeous girl and get her out of the shelter and into a loving home where she belongs!

If you or anyone you know is interested in Sheana, please contact or visit the shelter ASAP!
