Sweet Potato Banana Cookies

Sweet potato is another wonderful food for your dog. It is great for their digestive system and contain amino acids which increase the body’s antioxidant activity. Bananas are high in potassium which can help your pups muscles stay strong!


  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (plus extra for your work surface)
  • 1/4 cup whole oats
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 large sweet potato, baked
  • 1 egg


  • preheat your oven to 300 degrees
  • after your sweet potato is baked, scoop out the flesh into a bowl with your banana
  • mash them together well
  • add the flour, oats and egg
  • mix until well combined (until you have dough)
  • knead the dough on a floured surface until it’s no longer sticky
  • pat or roll out dough to a 1/4 inch thickness
  • use your favorite cookie cutter and cut the treats out

Note: you may need to add flour as your work because the dough is very sticky

  • place the cut out treats on a parchment lined baking sheet
  • bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour and then let the treats remain in turned off oven until completely cool and dry (oven times may vary)

Once completely cool, you can store the treats in an airtight container or in your refrigerator or freezer until ready to use.
