Meet Bandit and Yugi

We showed you their shelter photo, some of you already know they were a last minute save. What you don’t know is the truth, the heartbreaking story of how they ended up behind shelter walls, and the truth about their medical conditions.

Their owner had passed away, and these boys were left in the care of a family member who admittedly dumped them on the streets because “they weren’t dying fast enough”. We are enraged.

Both these dogs have clearly been starved, starved from both food and affection. They are emaciated beyond our comprehension; their nails severely overgrown. Yugi is 12+ years of age and is covered in numerous large masses that dangle from his skin. As if that’s not enough, he has double cherry eye, severe periodontal disease, muscle wasting, a grade 3 systolic heart murmur, and cranial organomegaly (the enlargement head/ skull area). Bandit at 18 years old, also has severe periodontal disease, systolic heart murmur, severe muscle wasting.

The level of neglect here is beyond heartbreaking and it is clear veterinary care was never provided. We have no way of knowing how long they have struggled or how long they have endured pain with no relief. It is way past time for them to receive the much needed medical and comfort care.

Bandit and Yugi are now safe and never go without care again. Every moment from this one forward will be filled with nothing but kindness and dignity.

These boys have a tough road ahead of them, and there are no guarantees, but their lives matter and we will do everything in our power to help them so they can enjoy their remaining golden years to the fullest.

Please help us give Bandit and Yugi the care they should have received all along. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help change their lives.

Make Miracles Happen

It’s the little miracles that happen here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary every day that remind us exactly why we do what we do.

This #GivingTuesday we are asking you to give with your heart and show the dogs that call Paws Give Me Purpose home just how much their lives really matter. We know that you also want to ensure that we can always keep our doors opened to others in need.

Paws Give Me Purpose provides Sanctuary for senior, special needs, and hospice dogs. We give them life — a chance to be loved, cherished and to learn that not all humans are unkind, and when it’s time, the dignity they truly deserve. We have dedicated our lives to those that no one else will save.

Please open your hearts and make your most generous gift, sponsor a Sanctuary resident, or become a Sanctuary Guardian Angel. Without your support, our valuable life-saving work cannot continue.

Give the gift of a second chance at life! If you are not in the position to donate, we ask that you please share to help our Sanctuary.

Thank you for being a part of our mission.

Can We Count On You

Our newest arrivals, Bandit and Yugi, are popping in to remind you all that GivingTuesday is just 2 days away!

This special day is when millions around the world unite to support the causes they care most about and the boys hope Paws Give Me Purpose is your chosen cause; without YOUR support, they would not have gotten this second chance at life.

There have been many uncertain moments this year for us here at Paws Give Me Purpose. There were times when we were not sure if we could provide the same life-saving care as we always have; however, because of each of YOU, no Sanctuary resident has gone without and we were even able to continue to help others in need.

Bandit and Yugi ask that you please save the date, make a donation, become a Sponsor, or a Guardian Angel to our Sanctuary — your gift will make a huge difference!

Together, we can continue to make miracles happen for seniors, hospice, special needs dogs like Bandit and Yugi as well as all the other loyal and loving dogs who make Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary their home – and we can save others.

Can We Count on You This GivingTuesday?
