Crockpot Chicken & Veggies

Whether it’s the dog food recalls that flood the news these days regarding unsafe ingredients, or just because you want your pup to eat healthy, you should consider making your own homemade food.

We have been making homemade dog food and treats long before food recalls. With the advice of our Veterinarian and tons of research, we are confident that making homemade food is the better option for our pups.

We know that we are feeding our pups food that does not have chemicals, fillers, preservatives, and whatever else the dog food manufacturers may put into their products.

Here is a very simple recipe that you can throw together quickly. Depending on the size of your crockpot, you can increase the quantities of the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup of green beans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of carrots, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of broccoli, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cut up potatoes of your choice
  • 4 cups of water

Instructions:

Throw all the ingredients in the slow cooker, set it to low and let cook for 6-8 hours.

Allow to cool, then serve it up warm or store in airtight containers in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Optional: You should also mix in a nutritional supplement with the food, such as flax seed or fish oil. Should you decide to use fish oil add it after the food is finished cooking and is just warm to the touch. Cooking the fish oil takes away its nutrients.
