This Is King

This is King.

He arrived at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary about an hour ago.

Our team is on the verge of tears, his medical and emotional condition are simply beyond our comprehension; how could any human be so cruel?! King is very sad, defeated and has given up on life.

Due to the horrible mistreatment and neglect, this tiny 14-year-old has suffered, we sadly know that his time with us will be short – but we knew we could not allow him to die alone in the shelter.

And before the inappropriate messages start coming our way we will simply state that King deserves love, dignity and respect, and we are going to make sure he receives everything he needs for as long as he is with us.

If anyone would like to help with King’s supportive care please use any of the links below to make your donation and be sure to note it’s for King.

Stanley’s Struggle

We are going to preface this post by stating that any inappropriate comments will be deleted – Stanley’s life matters.

This is not a reason to toss your senior dog who gave you 12 years of undying love and loyalty out like a piece of garbage on to the street only to end up in a high kill shelter. These horrible situations are just one of the many reasons why we do what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose.

Circling behavior in dogs can be due to a variety of medical conditions. In senior dogs, circling is often due to canine vestibular disease or canine cognitive dysfunction (a.k.a dementia or Doggie Alzheimer’s). There are medications that help and can reduce the circling and other abnormal behaviors.

Thankfully, Stanley is safe and is already scheduled to see our Veterinary team; he will receive the medical care he needs and deserves in order to live out his golden years to the fullest.

In the meantime, Stanley slept very well last night, has a healthy appetite, and is already beginning to figure out his new environment. This smart boy has already learned where the water bowls are all on his own!

Quality of life above all else is important to us, and with your help, we will make sure Stanley has the best of everything.

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose.

Stay tuned for a complete bio coming soon.

Welcome To Sanctuary

Please join the Paws Give Me Purpose team in welcoming Beagle, age 8 (pictured left) and Stanley, age 12 (pictured right) to our Sanctuary.

Originally rescued by Yorkie 911 Rescue in NY, Beagle came from a hoarding situation and Stanley had been dumped at a shelter by those he thought would love him forever. These boys were both up for adoption, and sadly remained unnoticed and had zero adoption interest for far too long; that is when the rescue reached out to us for help.

Is it their age, their medical issues, or the fact that both these beautiful senior souls are completely blind? We really wish we knew the answer and find it difficult to comprehend.

Here at Paws Give Me Purpose Inc, we have a soft-spot for the underdog. Senior dogs, and those with special needs are usually the last ones chosen for adoption if they are chosen at all, and it is extremely heartbreaking to watch as these precious souls get overlooked.

Since their arrival this morning, both Beagle and Stanley are taking some much needed time to decompress and acclimate to their new surroundings. Stay tuned for complete bios once we evaluate, get to know them and their medical issues better.

In the meantime, there is something to do, and the thing we actually hate doing the most, asking for money. Providing Sanctuary is often a daunting task- and at times filled with heartache, but their lives matter.

Please consider making a donation toward Beagle and Stanley’s care, no amount is too small.

If anyone is interested in sponsoring either of these beautiful seniors please reach out to us directly.
