On this transformation Tuesday, our little Ferbie took a very big positive step – he accepted some delicious honey goat cheese from Sanctuary mom.

It may not seem like a big deal to many, but to us this is huge – Ferb is healing. His coat is growing back beautifully and he is beginning to trust his humans!

Ferbie clearly finds this cheese extremely delicious – he waits nicely for some every single day, and this is really something to smile about.

Hi all! It’s me, Ferb here, popping in to remind you it’s $5 Friday. I also wanted to show off how fabulous my coat of fluff is looking. 

Who would have thought my bald little self would be looking this good? Even the Veterinary Team is surprised. I’m thinking it must be the special care, food and supplements they give me here at Paws Give Me Purpose.

As a Sanctuary for senior, special needs, and hospice dogs like me, a major part of what they do is provide ongoing medical support and treatment for all us dogs in their care. 

They work hard to help us maintain a good quality of life for as long as we are on this earth – giving us the ability to live the life we may have never had before, with everything we could ever need. 

Vet bills are growing and sadly, donations are not — we need your help!

We have some heartbreaking news to share – our precious Ollie gained his Angel wings this evening.

Making the choice to help a Sanctuary resident find the peace they truly deserve is one the most heart wrenching decisions we have to make here at Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. Sanctuary. Quality of life above all else is important to us, and we made sure Ollie had the best of everything.

The crushing reality sometimes is that it’s too late to heal these precious beings from the lifetime of neglect and abuse no matter how hard we try. In Ollie’s case, major cognitive dysfunction and moments of discomfort outweighed his capacity to enjoy life.

Ollie left this world with the dignity he deserved, in the arms of his Sanctuary mom; our hearts are shattered here today. The howling of the Sanctuary residents began the moment Ollie left this world and now our Sanctuary is very quiet as we all mourn his loss.

In the 2 weeks that Ollie was here in Sanctuary, this beautiful soul knew nothing but love and learned that not all humans are unkind.

Although his time with us was very short, Ollie’s life was very important to us. We most definitely could not stand by and allow him to die alone in a shelter never having known kindness, compassion and love.

You will always live on in our hearts Ollie – you left us way too soon. We truly wish love could have saved you; we were blessed to have known you!
