Meet Alfie

For little Alfie and many other dogs like him, Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary is home; a place where they are loved beyond measure no matter their perfectly imperfect medical conditions or behaviors.

Alfie needed a place to heal his broken soul, a place where he could just be himself without judgment, a place where he can be comfortable to just be a dog.

PGMP gives the unwanted, abused, neglected, senior, hospice and special needs animals like Alfie life for no matter how long they are with us; that is what makes our Sanctuary a very special place.

We are a no-kill, cage free Sanctuary and of the dogs in our care live in a home setting. At Paws Give Me Purpose, care is provided 24/7. We have no paid staff or board members; 100% of all donations goes directly toward the care of our Sanctuary residents.

Donations are at an all time low, and we rely primarily on fundraising to help dogs in need. Your donation, no matter how big or small, helps provide lifesaving medical care, much needed therapeutic treatments, medications, supplements, supplies, great food, including prescription diets, and treats.

With YOU by our side, precious souls like Alfie receive everything they need to be comfortable and happy for however long they are with us. YOU help us provide everything they need to make their last days, their best days.

With the difficult medical cases that have recently walked through our doors, and continue to come in, your support is critical more than ever! Our Vet and supply bills are enormous and our bank account severely depleted.

Please make a donation toward Alfie’s care, help keep our doors open to others in need; give us the ability to continue our work and give all these precious unwanted souls their best lives daily, unconditionally.

Love Lives On

How is it possible that the tiniest feet can make the biggest footprints on our hearts?!

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Sanctuary resident, Marvin. He passed peacefully in his sleep knowing only kindness, compassion, love, and dignity.

The namesake of one of our very own PGMP Team member’s husband who passed away many years ago, little Marvin entered our Sanctuary doors back in March with a strong will to live, but a very fragile body. He showed us his resilience daily and he fought so hard to stay that his gaining his angel wings and leaving us was just that much more painful.

We knew Marvin’s time with us was going to be short when we rescued him, but we kept our promise – we loved him, spoiled him, and kept him comfortable during his brief time here with us.

He arrived a walking skeleton, it was very clear he had been extremely neglected for a very long time. His body condition score was a 1/9 with extreme muscle wasting. He had difficulty walking on his hind legs and walked with a wide/low stance and hunched posture. His spine arthritic, his mouth, end stage dental disease, and so much more. We worried about his ability to bounce back and enjoy his remaining twilight years – and he did!

Marvin got stronger, walked better, made friends both 2 legged and 4. He enjoyed homemade meals, and most of all hanging out with his best buddy Phil on the couch. They wore matching jammies and ate together at every meal – the cuteness factor was just beyond compare. Marvin loved a good lap, a good cuddle and loved with all his heart. He always had this happy go lucky attitude and it never wavered; he was simply irresistibly charming!

Now little Marvin sits on big Marvin’s lap in heaven, leaving behind a gaping hole here at the Sanctuary. While we can no longer see him with our eyes, or touch him with our hands, we will feel him in our hearts here at PGMP forever.

Marvin, you will forever be loved, and never forgotten. Your unconditional love and pure happiness was truly the greatest gift of all, thank you for being such an incredible part of our lives!

We were blessed to have known and been able to love you with our whole hearts. We miss you more than words can express, but are grateful for all the love and joy you brought into our Sanctuary. You will always live on in our hearts and at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary forever.

We know that each and every one of you share this loss with us and we thank you for loving Marvin with us and for being a support to us during this time.

Welcome Mango & Coconut

Abandoned in a small crate with a dirty bed by humans who promised to love them forever. It was the ultimate betrayal for these precious senior souls. Alone and afraid, they wondered what they could have possibly done wrong to deserve this.

It’s a fact that we all grow old, it’s a fact that we all eventually leave this world. We don’t get to choose how or when these things will happen, and this is something we can not change. We can make a difference for these animals, and we were not going to stand idly by and allow these boys to lose the chance to enjoy their remaining golden years.

Mango and Coconut are now safe with us here at PGMP Sanctuary and will know nothing but warmth, comfort, unconditional love and will receive the necessary and much needed medical care they deserve.

Mango and Coconut need our help, we cannot let them down, we cannot do this without you!

PLEASE make a donation to help give this precious senior pair only the best so they can enjoy their remaining years to the fullest.
