Pictured here is precious Phil, this adorable senior soul was saved off the streets of Philadelphia. Unfortunately, we have no idea how long he was out there alone, frightened, and desperately in need of medical care.

Thanks to all of you, Phil is now safe and comfortable, but requires expensive, ongoing medical care. This care includes daily life saving medications in order to give him the chance for a longer, happier life.

With so many senior, abused, and neglected dogs being abandoned and requiring specialized Sanctuary care, we need your help more than ever.

Though we can’t change their past, with all of you by our side, we promise Phil and all the other beautiful souls that call Paws Give Me Purpose home will live the best days of their lives to the fullest!

Senior, special needs dogs like our very own Sprite are often abandoned by humans who promised to love them forever. Thanks to YOU, beautiful Sprite is alive today and will be loved and cared for the rest of her life.

Special needs dogs should not be defined by their circumstances, and Sprite isn’t even aware that she may be different from other animals. She is first and foremost a dog, and her will to live is amazing!

Here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary, our mission is to provide a bridge of care that supports senior, hospice and special needs dogs so they can live their lives to the fullest.

We are a no-kill, cage-free Sanctuary, and all of the dogs in our care live in a home setting; care is provided 24/7.

A major part of what we do is provide ongoing medical support and treatment for the dogs in our care. We work closely with our Veterinary team to maintain a good quality of life for our Sanctuary residents for as long as they are with us.

Whether they are with us for a few hours, days, months, or years, our job here is to walk them to the bridge. We never get to go in with them, but hope they carry with them all the love beyond measure that we have given them as they move on to their next chapter wherever that may be. In truth, this is emotionally painful work.

Our days are filled with back-breaking hard work, painfully dry and cracked hands, moments of happiness, sadness, and every emotion in between. We have dedicated our lives to those that no one else will save.

Without our wonderful supporters, none of this life-saving work would be possible. YOU are all a major part of the work we do, and are the driving force behind us!

This past weekend we welcomed Alexis into Sanctuary. Found in an alley with no collar, leash or owner in sight. Her body was filthy and her hair was matted. Her poor mouth is infected; her breath rancid because her mouth is rotting. Her arthritis pain is visible in every slow step she takes. In addition, this precious girl is suffering from diarrhea, alopecia, and intermittent head bobbing/mild tremors.

Yet, Alexis wags her tail. She greets everyone both 2 legged and 4 legged with such joy and has shown us how very much she wants this second chance to live.

Who left her like this? How could they walk away? We most certainly couldn’t, because her life matters! This is agony, this is suffering, and this is exactly why PGMP Sanctuary exists.

Here at Paws Give Me Purpose, we don’t give up easily. We never shy away from difficult cases like Alexis. We say yes when others feel they are too far gone – but we cannot continue to do this without you!
