His Smile Says It All

We know that everyone is feeling the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic and wanted to bring some more happy news your way and bring a smile to your faces.

Houston has just celebrated one month in his forever home, and is making amazing progress!

In all honesty, the timing of his adoption couldn’t have been better. With dad home now more than ever, Houston is getting the much needed extra time, attention, and training in order to be the best boy he can be. He has even made some doggie friends within his first few weeks in the neighborhood.

The smile on Houston’s face really says it all, and it reminds us why we continue to do what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose. We honestly could not have asked for a better dad for Houston, and we are very glad they found each other.

We hope you can all take a moment today to smile, even if it’s only for a second. It’s important at times like this that we take a step back and appreciate the world around us by talking a short walk with our four-legged friends, or reading some happy news about dog adoptions.

In Memory Of Pancake

Due to the passing of our very beloved Pancake, we will not be publishing a Featured Dog Friday this week. 

Everything is very different here the last couple of days and there is extreme sadness in the air. Pancake was a very important part of us, our hearts, souls and lives here at Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. and his loss has left a gaping hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. This does not just include humans, but all of the dogs living here in Sanctuary. 

Pancake lived here at Paws Give Me Purpose and was part of our family. He taught us many important life lessons. To live in the moment, overcome fear with love, not hold grudges, and greet every day with optimism. To play every day, jump for joy, to accept yourself, enjoy the journey, take time to relax, drink lots of water, take time to appreciate the small things, be loyal, dependable, and love unconditionally. 

The very day we rescued Pancake, the Spirit of Paws Give Me Purpose was born. Pancake, thank you for giving us purpose by showing us yours. We love you very much, and you will be forever in our hearts, Pancake!
