Welcome Peggy

Surrendered to the shelter after her owner passed away, Peggy (shelter name Penny) was extremely stressed and afraid.

She is blind, her nails overgrown, her hair matted in feces, her mouth ravaged by severe dental disease, suffers from an enlarged heart, and a thoracic mass. These conditions happen slowly, this is neglect, this is criminal. This small senior dog was left to endure more than she ever should.

Peggy arrived yesterday. She is uncomfortable and exhausted, but she is safe here at PGMP Sanctuary.

We were asked by the shelter to step in when the story was already heavy, when the bills are large, when the outcomes are uncertain, and when compassion is the only clear directive. Peggy needs immediate and ongoing medical care; this is not a quick fix, but it is a chance – a second chance at life, a chance for comfort, stability, and dignity in the time she has left.

If you’ve ever wondered what saving them at the last moment really looks like, this is it!

Please open your hearts and if you are able, your wallets, and show Peggy some love. Show her that in this last chapter of life, without question, her days will be spent feeling safe and fully loved – unconditionally.

Meet Jax

Today is Tongue Out Tuesday, and one of our newest Sanctuary residents is popping in to show off his adorable tongue and introduce himself.

Meet Jax! At 13+ years of age, this precious little boy found himself surrendered to rescue when his owner developed Alzheimer’s Disease and could no longer care for him. Due to Jax’s many medical issues, our friends at Hart For Animals reached out for Sanctuary placement and the rest as they say is history.

Our promise to Jax is to provide him and all of our Sanctuary residents with a safe and loving environment for the rest of their lives. With YOUR undying support we are making it happen!

If anyone ever doubts us, know that this is what we do at Paws Give Me Purpose.

Happy New Year!

There are truly not enough words to describe how amazed and grateful we are for your dedication, compassion and generosity. In 2025, thousands of you unwaveringly helped us save lives regardless of your personal struggles.

We are truly grateful beyond words for every hand that helped, every heart that cared, and every life that was saved.

Because of YOU, no Sanctuary resident has gone without, and we were even able to continue to help others in need!

We have dedicated our lives to those that no one else will save, the lives of the most beautiful yet unwanted souls, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for joining us on this incredible mission.

May the coming year be filled with peace, hope, and togetherness of your family and friends. May it bring every abused, neglected, and every single forgotten dog a loving forever home.

It is in this spirit that our board members, staff, volunteers and all of our 4-legged residents here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year!
