Meet Ziggy

His cries are beyond heartbreaking, his pacing is fast and furious: he is heartbroken, he is angry and you can see the sadness in his eyes.

Found stray on the streets of Baltimore, this precious soul thought he was lost, and waited with hope for his family to come take him home – no one ever did.

Meet our newest Sanctuary resident Ziggy. Ziggy is a broken shell of a dog. He is estimated to be 15-16 years of age, and has many medical issues. Due to his advanced age and medical needs, he quickly ended up on the top of the overcrowded shelters kill list.

Deemed unadoptable, the rescue coordinator knew there was a special place she could contact to help Ziggy; Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary. Ziggy arrived yesterday.

Our world has become a disposable society, one where even living beings are treated like yesterday’s newspaper and tossed away. Many don’t seem to realize the difference between their old sneakers and their older furry family member – and that is something we find difficult to wrap our heads around.

Then there are those who don’t believe dogs like Ziggy matter – well we believe they do! Ziggy deserves to live out his remaining golden years loved and cherished and with your help, we will make it happen.

Just like many of you out there, we are struggling. Our outstanding Vet bills, food bills and supply bills are enormous; we are truly scraping the bottom of our bank account. But, Ziggy needs our help!

NO amount is ever too small, and no one should ever feel less because they cannot afford to give; so we ask those of you who are in the position to contribute to dig deep and those who are not to please share far and wide. We cannot continue to do what we do without you!

Snowball Update

Here at Paws Give Me Purpose, we believe in full disclosure to all our followers and generous supporters. We apologize for the delay in sharing this much awaited medical update on Snowball, things here have been extremely busy.

Unfortunately, the Cardiologist’s findings are not the news we hoped for, but rest assured, Snowball is currently doing very well, she is comfortable, has a great appetite, is extremely loved and will continue to be spoiled for as long as she is with us.

Snowball underwent an echocardiogram, and the following is the Cardiologists summary of findings: Pulmonic Stenosis (PS); a cogenital heart defect caused by subvalvular, valvular or supravalvular obstruction to the outflow through the pulmonic tract/valve. Severe pressure overload to the right ventricle and compensatory hypertrophy are often noted. Progression of the disease resulting in possible heart failure or sudden death are possibilities.

We have discussed treatments with our Veterinary team and Snowball is taking supplements, some homeopathic remedies, and eating a prescription diet in order to keep her feeling her best.

Quality of life is top priority to us here at Paws Give Me Purpose, and we are making sure that Snowball has everything she needs to enjoy her remaining golden years to the fullest.

Our deepest gratitude to Susie’s Senior Dogs who has teamed up with Chloe’s Fospice Friends and awarded us a grant to help with Snowball’s care.

Meet Truffle

Meet Truffle, this precious senior soul was surrendered to the NYCACC by those she thought would love her forever; clearly forever had an expiration date. Truffle almost lost her life when she was surrendered. Because her life matters we urgently need your help!

Truffle is an extra fearful 11-year-old Chihuahua, with a host of medical and behavioral issues requiring immediate care and we need your help to provide her with the best care possible – for without you, our dedicated supporters, we are nothing!

Without you, dogs like Truffle would never have a second chance. Thank you for always supporting our mission – it is EVERYTHING to the animals we save.

Thank you to Remember Me Rescue NY for pulling Truffle to safety and requesting urgent Sanctuary placement.

We ask that you please consider making a life-saving donation today! We are truly scraping the bottom of our bank account and our outstanding Vet bills, food bills and supply bills are enormous.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your ongoing support.
