Hi all! It’s me Minnie. I know I can sometimes be a big, demanding barker, but I do also know how to be quiet – especially when I have something serious to share.

Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. gives the abused, neglected and the most unwanted souls like myself a life; a chance to be loved, cherished and to learn that not all humans are unkind.

As a Sanctuary for senior, special needs, hospice, and other difficult to adopt dogs, a major part of what they do is provide ongoing medical support and treatment for all us dogs in their care. 

They work closely with their Veterinary team to help us maintain a good quality of life for as long as we are on this earth – giving us the ability to live the life we may have never had before – in a loving home with everything we could ever need. 

This kind of medical care is expensive, even with the wonderful rescue discount they receive from the Vets, and we, the Sanctuary residents, truly appreciate any and all donations made to the medical fund! 

Vet bills are growing and sadly, donations are not — we need your help! Paws Give Me Purpose is currently working hard to pay down the vet bills and replenish their medical fund so they can continue to help others just like me.

Your generosity and kindness helps sustain Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. making it possible for dogs like me, and others with special needs to live in the safe, loving, family-like environment of their Sanctuary. Without them, I’d hate to even think where I would be. 

We cried when we first saw her. The light in her eyes was truly stolen by the sadness in her heart, and we tried our best to restore the light. 

No matter how many times we take in a hospice case like this our hearts shatter. We know this is the right thing to do; no dog deserves to be treated like trash by the family they gave all their love and loyalty to for over 14 years. We have said it many times before, and we will say it again, Honey’s life mattered! We could not stand by and allow her to die alone in a shelter.

We kept our promise to Honey; loved her, spoiled her, and kept her comfortable during her time here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary. Then yesterday evening, she left this earth on her own terms knowing kindness, compassion, love and dignity. 

All she wanted was to be loved and we did just that! She loved cuddling up to her teddy bear when she slept, and quickly became a human shadow here at the Sanctuary, following her Sanctuary mom from room to room. She even made fast friends with some of the other senior residents. 

Even in her final hours with us, Honey wanted nothing more than to be near her human. When she was ready she went to lay down in her favorite bed next to her teddy, closed her eyes and went to sleep for the last time. 

Although her time with us was very short, Honey was a beautiful soul who left paw prints on the hearts of everyone who met her — human and dog alike. 

You will always live on in our hearts Honey you were taken way too soon – we truly wish our love and care could have healed you and given you more time like you deserved. We were blessed to have known you!

For Minnie and others like her, Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. Sanctuary is a special place where she can take all the time she needs to heal, learn that not all humans are unkind, and what it’s truly like to be loved.

At almost 14, this little lady truly has an amazing spirit and her will to live life to the fullest is beyond compare – dogs like Minnie truly inspire all of us to become even better human beings.
