Driving Force Behind Us

Senior, special needs dogs like our very own Baby Shark (Cocoa) and her bestie Truffle, are often abandoned by humans who promised to love them forever. Thanks to YOU, they are both alive today and will be loved and cared for the rest of their lives

Here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary, our mission is to provide a bridge of care that supports senior, hospice and special needs dogs so they can live their lives to the fullest.

Cocoa and Truffle make the most out of every day; and if you always feel like somebody’s watching you, they most definitely are. They don’t miss a thing that goes on around here, both characters that make us really smile every day.

We are a no-kill, cage-free Sanctuary, and all of the dogs in our care live in a home setting. At Paws Give Me Purpose, care is provided 24/7.

A major part of what we do is provide ongoing medical support and treatment for the dogs in our care. We work closely with our Veterinary team to maintain a good quality of life for our Sanctuary residents for as long as they are with us.

Whether they are with us for a few hours, days, months or years, our job here is to walk them to the bridge. We never get to go in with them, but hope they carry with them all the love beyond measure that we have given them as they move on to their next chapter wherever that may be. In truth, this is emotionally painful work.

Our days are filled with back-breaking hard work, painfully dry and cracked hands, moments of happiness, sadness, and every emotion in between. We have dedicated our lives to those that no one else will save.

Without our wonderful supporters, none of this life-saving work would be possible. YOU are all a major part of the work we do, and are the driving force behind us!

Please consider becoming a Guardian Angel to our Sanctuary. As a Sanctuary Guardian Angel, your gift will help provide annual care to all of our Sanctuary residents.

As a Guardian Angel you will help make a difference in the lives of the dogs we cherish.

Welcome Fletcher

We recently received a heartbreaking plea from one of our shelter partners; a dog was found abandoned inside a dark empty storage unit – no one knows how long he was inside, but it was clear he had been alone for a long time.

Fletcher’s story is absolutely heartbreaking, and when we heard it, we immediately said yes.

Estimated at 12+ years of age, Fletcher is underweight, blind, has a grade 3 heart murmur and severe dental disease. Additionally, the shelter noted that he constantly circles – could be either anxiety, cognitive issues or vestibular and we are working with our Veterinary Team in order to properly diagnose and treat his condition.

Despite all the trauma he has had to endure and his urgent medical needs, Fletcher is the sweetest boy ever! His life matters and he deserves this second chance. We will do whatever it takes to help Fletcher so he can live out his remaining golden years to the fullest.

Please consider making a lifesaving gift today! We cannot do this without YOU!

Feeling Thankful

Little Marvin is popping in this Thankful Thursday to say hello and charm you with his adorable presence.

While the world may not always be easy to live in, each and every one of you makes it possible for us to save the most unwanted dogs who seemingly have no hope; for that, we are forever grateful, and we believe they are, too.

Marvin is thankful for this second chance at life and enjoys every day to the fullest knowing that it’s a precious privilege to be alive; he can live this life because of YOUR support.

Thank you for giving us the ability to do what we do!
