Today we would like to introduce you to our newest tiny Sanctuary resident, Timmy (shelter name Titan).

Found as a stray, Timmy was brought in to the Babylon Animal Shelter where he waited for his family to come and find him; sadly that never happened. It seems that Tiny Tim is yet another senior dog tossed out like yesterday’s newspaper by those he thought would love him forever – heartbreaking doesn’t even begin to describe our feelings about this.

Estimated to be 13+ years of age, Timmy presents with many medical issues that require immediate care. We are working closely with our Veterinary team to help him get as healthy and comfortable as possible; he has sadly been severely neglected for far too long.

Timmy officially entered our Sanctuary doors yesterday, and we need YOUR help in order to give him the chance to live out his golden years to the fullest. Timmy deserves this second chance to be happy, loved and cherished. Our promise is to give him his best life daily with unconditional love for the rest of his life.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the sudden passing of little Seraphina. 

She was tiny but fierce; although she was a very sick little girl, you’d never have known it. Her prognosis was grim when she arrived here to Paws Give Me Purpose, she was diagnosed with both bladder cancer and congestive heart failure. But, there was this amazing light of life in her eyes like no other – she rallied and lived a very spoiled, comfortable, beautiful 3 months.

Seraphina became part of a very exclusive group here at our Sanctuary, a group of female Chihuahuas who are also jokingly known as the “mean girls” of the Sanctuary. If you are not a dog of the Chihuahua breed, they know it and you can not share their couch, space etc. As a group they will gang up on you – they keep us laughing but also on our toes all the time. They stuck together, they did everything together, ate together, sunbathed together, and even slept together. 

Seraphina was immediately welcomed the moment she came through our Sanctuary doors – it was as if all the other Chis already knew her and she knew them. The instant bond was incredibly beautiful to observe especially since we knew she was so sick. 

She enjoyed her life here to the fullest. After a life of horrible neglect she truly deserved so much better than what she got and we worked hard to erase all that bad by creating only good memories for her. 

Seraphina was a tiny Angel to every human here at the Sanctuary and Paws Give Me Purpose became her Heaven on Earth. And although she wasn’t ready to leave us, her body and heart were just too tired to go on – she closed her eyes going to sleep for the last time and gained her Angel wings.

To say we are heartbroken would be an understatement. Nothing will ever be the same here at Paws Give Me Purpose without her as each dog that comes through our door brings us something special. There is a huge cloud of sadness over the Sanctuary as Seraphina’s group of friends are mourning her loss. 

You will always live on in our hearts Seraphina – you were taken way too soon. We were blessed to have known and been able to love you with our whole hearts! 

We hope you enjoyed your best life daily, unconditionally and that you know how much you are loved and missed by so many – most especially the other tiny Chihuahua souls who look for you daily. 

We would like to acknowledge Seraphina’s generous Sanctuary sponsor for assisting us with her care and helping give us the ability to provide her with everything she needed and more. On behalf of our little Seraphina, we thank you from the bottom of her little heart and ours. 

To all of our followers and supporters, thank you for caring and for being a support to us during this difficult time.

We were recently alerted by one of our shelter partners about a girl in dire need of help and just knew we had to step in. Little Lola was found abandoned on the streets in horrible condition; she was filthy, matted, has a large matted mass of hair hanging off her and severely matted feet. 

We have no idea what this little girl has been through, and just the sight of her is beyond heartbreaking. She deserves so much better – love, care, dignity, and we will give her the chance she deserves.

We could not let her down! She clearly has been through too much, and she needs us. We said yes to providing her with Sanctuary and our volunteer rushed to immediately pick her up from the shelter. 

Lola is now safe with Paws Give Me Purpose but her journey has just begun. Her life matters and we will do everything in our power to provide her with everything she needs and deserves.

All we know right now is that she is estimated to be 12+ years of age, has a severe heart murmur and her little face is sunken in because she is missing most of her teeth. She will need complete vetting, including a visit with our cardiologist for an echocardiogram. 

We can see first hand just how much she really wants this second chance more than anything – but we cannot make it happen without YOUR help. 

Please help us fight to give Lola the opportunity to live the best life possible in her remaining years. We cannot do this without YOU!
