Tater Tot Tuesday

We have designated today at the Sanctuary as Tater Tot Tongue Out Tuesday!

Tater Tot is one of the sweetest, most gentle senior souls to enter our doors. We can see that she must have once been loved at some point in her life; but sadly when she became old and sick she was tossed out on to the street like a piece of trash.

But, she is with us now and with your support, we are making sure that her remaining time is what it should be – lived to the fullest! Full belly, medical care and most importantly, all the love and care that she so deserves.

“Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog.” – Sidney Jeanne Seward

Meet Izzy

Although intake is closed here at Paws Give Me Purpose, we received a heartbreaking plea for help from our shelter partner – emergency Sanctuary placement was requested for a dog believed to be in heart failure.

We could not say no and allow her to die in the shelter as her life matters. One of our very dedicated volunteers rushed to save her at the last minute and we have taken this precious senior into our care.

Meet Izzy. At 12 years of age, this poor girl has not had an easy life, and we can only imagine her pain. Surrendered to the shelter by those she thought would love her forever, she sat and cried watching the only family she has ever known walk away. Sadly it seems the feeling was never mutual.

While our focus is always on the physical and mental healing of the dogs, we normally avoid discussing what owner surrender papers say. However, in this case we will state the most disturbing thing we read on Izzy’s paperwork – Izzy lived all 12 years of her life in a crate. Yes, you are reading that correctly. And when they would let her out of her crate she would soil the house so they would punish her by locking her back up. What was the reason for even bringing a dog into your lives?! What was the reason you even kept her all these years?! If you can’t treat a dog like family, don’t get one!

Poor Izzy is mentally and physically broken – she needs our help, and we are her only hope. She needs blood work, X-rays and an immediate echocardiogram (all already scheduled) Izzy is weak, frail and begging for her second chance!

Please help us fight to give Izzy the opportunity to live the best life possible for no matter how long she is with us. We cannot do this without YOU!

Sponsor Tater Tot

Paws Give Me Purpose takes in a never ending stream of sad, fearful, yet hopeful faces that look to us to make it all better.

Senior dogs with special needs like Tater Tot are often dumped by the families who promised to love them on the street and in shelters; because of you, Tater Tot is alive today and will be loved and cared for the rest of her life.

Believe it or not, this precious girl is still in search of her very own Sanctuary sponsor. Tater Tot and all of our Sanctuary residents need people with extra-big hearts to help us give them their second chance at life and becoming a sponsor helps make it possible for us to give Tater Tot everything she needs and the ability to help others.

Tater Tot came to us when no one else stepped up to help her during her time of need. She needed a comfy and cozy place to retire, filled with nothing but love and happiness and with your support, we are making it happen!
