Prayers For Bubbles

While we are all deeply grieving the sudden loss of sweet Cinnabon, we have had no choice but to pull it together for Bubbles.

No matter who or what you believe in, we believe prayers are powerful. Today the Paws Give Me Purpose Team is asking that you all send the strongest positive thoughts, prayers and strength our way as Bubbles heads into surgery to remove the largest of her tumors.

While Bubbles has many tumors throughout her body, these 2 very large masses literally hang off her body and touch the ground making it impossible to sit, lay, and walk outside properly without rubbing them on the ground.

This is a very complicated surgery and of course we are extremely worried, but we also know that we have the best, most experienced surgeon handling the case. This surgery has been on the calendar for quite a while, and we honestly weren’t sure if it was going to happen. Thankfully we have been able to get Bubbles to the point where this surgery is now medically possible.

This is not by any means a surgery that will cure her, but it will make her more comfortable and give her the best quality of life for as long as she is with us. We will also of course send the masses out for biopsy so we can see what type of Cancer we are dealing with specifically.

No matter how many times we take in a hospice case like this, we know it is the right thing to do; no dog deserves to be treated like trash by the family they gave all their love and loyalty to. We could not stand by and allow her to die alone in a shelter.

All Bubbles wants is to be loved and our promise to her is to love her, spoil her, and keep her comfortable during her time here at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary.

Love Leaves A Memory

We have some heartbreaking news to share: last night, Cinnabon gained her angel wings.

Mere words cannot express the sorrow and sadness we feel; beautiful Cinnabon went into respiratory distress and sadly left this earth in Sanctuary mom’s arms on the way to the emergency vet.

Even when we know a dog is here in hospice, it is still one of the toughest phases we go through – and it never gets easier. Although we knew her time with us would be short, we never expected it to be this short and we are truly broken.

Cinnabon’s life was very important to us and in the few days that she was here in Sanctuary, she knew nothing but kindness, compassion and love.

She gifted us with her presence, smiled with her eyes, laughed with her tail and loved with all her heart. She would do a little dance when she was happy, barked with excitement while waiting for her meals, and enjoyed receiving attention and affection. When she realized that she was the most safe and loved she was able to let go and leave this earth with the dignity she deserved and not die alone in a shelter.

Cinnabon, you will always live on in our hearts – you were taken way too soon. We feel truly blessed that your beautiful spirit has touched our lives, our hearts and we were blessed to have known you.

Cinnabon left paw prints on everyone’s heart here at the Sanctuary and she is greatly missed.

To our dear friend, Michele Desanti, of Remember Me Rescue NY, thank you for believing this precious life mattered. Thank you for seeing Cinnabon deserved this second chance at life, arranging her arrival to our Sanctuary and giving us the opportunity to love, spoil and show her that not all humans are unkind.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your kindness, prayers and donations toward Cinnabons care. We truly could not do any of this without you.

Because They Matter

We are sadly seeing an increase in abandonment of senior, hospice and special needs dogs that is simply beyond our comprehension. Tossed out like trash onto the streets of New York, these precious souls were left to fend for themselves until they were picked up as strays and brought to the NYCACC.

Cinnabon the Pug is estimated to be approximately 15+ years old, is overweight, has upper airway disease, severe dental disease, corneal ulcers and possibly even cancer.

Pixie, the Yorkie, estimated to be 12+ years of age, has severe dental disease, a mass in her mouth, a collapsed trachea, a heart murmur and is severely underweight.

Many thanks to Remember Me Rescue NY for believing these precious lives matter, pulling them to safety, and arranging their arrival to our Sanctuary.

In order to provide them both with the specialized, urgent medical care they need and deserve, we need your help – they will be seeing our Veterinary Team as soon as possible.

They have already both suffered the ultimate betrayal of abandonment and it is up to us to make it right for them. They deserve this second chance at life!

Please donate, every penny counts – no amount is too small. We can not continue to do all of the important work we do without all of you!
