This is the face of a dog that almost lost his life. 

For those not familiar, his body showed evidence of extreme neglect, tied up in a mesh laundry bag and thrown out a car window on a busy highway simply because those who promised to love him forever decided his life no longer mattered. 

This is the face of a dog that now knows he is safe, loved, and will never be abandoned again. 

This is Alfredo and he is grateful to all of YOU for giving us the ability to save his life. 

We are Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. Sanctuary, and YOU are a big part of our team.

Our adorable bonded pair of brothers, Graham and Oreo, are popping in today to introduce themselves and remind you that today is Wishlist Wednesday!

These boys were surrendered to the shelter for simply being “old and sick” – the ultimate betrayal by those who promised to love them forever and it is beyond heartbreaking. The shelter, over capacity, reached out for urgent help and we stepped in to provide these boys with the respect and dignity they deserve; no matter their age, appearance or health status.

Please consider making a donation to help us with Graham and Oreo’s care, or shopping our wish lists to donate food, enrichment, and more to our Sanctuary residents. Every one of the precious souls that walks through our doors deserves this second chance for life and with your help we can provide them with everything they need, including only the best medical care, so they can enjoy their twilight years to the fullest.

The neglect is beyond our comprehension; her tiny body emaciated, a 1/9 body score and completely wasted muscles. Her hair was extremely matted with feces, her paws covered completely as if she was wearing boots, underneath her nails were curled into her paw pads. She suffers from a ⅚ Systolic heart murmur, dental disease and with all of this, was thrown out on to the streets to basically die alone.

We can only imagine how long she has been in pain and suffering, yet she still loves and wants to be loved – that’s the heart of a dog, unconditional love.

Meet Lady! (shelter name Bella Ray) Her shelter plea was beyond heartbreaking, her life hanging in the balance simply because some person out there decided she was trash. The shelters are so overcrowded that in order for even a chance at life she needed a special place where she can receive the necessary care 24/7.

Lady is now safe here with us at Paws Give Me Purpose. She has been made comfortable and is currently in quarantine receiving some much needed round the clock care. She is on a refeeding schedule, daily fluids, B12 and supplements to help her try to gain back some muscle in her fragile body.

We are not going to lie, her blood work looks scary, but we are hopeful for this soft soul to bounce back so she can enjoy her senior years to the fullest. While Lady may have a long road of recovery ahead, including a visit to our cardiologist, the worst days of her life, being unseen and uncared for are behind her.
