On this fabulous Friday, beautiful Honey (Phila ACCT-A-255269) is popping in to say hello.

At the age of 19, she was abandoned at the shelter by the family she thought would love her forever. Unfortunately, she was in terrible shape.

Dogs love sincerely, with all their hearts, with all their soul and are unable to understand that human ‘love forever’ often has an expiration date and they are no longer wanted. There is absolutely no excuse for the level of neglect she has endured.

For Honey and many other special needs seniors, we are that special place where they can take a deep breath knowing they are safe, smile, and start again.

There is a special light in her eyes, a clear will to live and enjoy her remaining golden years to the fullest. For as long as she is with us, we will make it happen!

It’s because of wonderful supporters like you that we can give Honey what she needs to live her life to the fullest – the way it was meant to be.

On this wonderful Wednesday precious William is popping in to say hello to our wonderful followers and supporters. He’s here to tell you that getting old is definitely not easy, but he is still beautiful, inside and out, and he has value in this world!

We have a very hard time understanding why anyone would have brought a dog like Willy into their lives only to throw him out onto the streets. Regardless of this past, Willy is currently receiving the ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, healthy diet, senior supplements and the TLC he needs and deserves.

All dogs are beautiful, but senior dogs have a way of touching our hearts in a way that changes everything.

Willy wants you to know how grateful he is for this second chance at life. It would not be possible without your support. Thank you for giving us the ability to do what we do, because these lives matter too!

Dogs with special needs like one of our newest residents, Sampson, are often abandoned by humans who promised to love them forever. Thanks to supporters like you, Sammy is alive today and will be loved and cared for the rest of his life.

Paws Give Me Purpose takes in a never-ending stream of sad, hopeful, and fearful faces that look to us to make it all better.

Sammy came to us when no one else stepped up during his time of need. Sitting alone in a shelter kennel is very difficult on any dog, let alone a paralyzed one. Sammy requires very specialized care, and that is something unfortunately that a busy shelter environment cannot provide.  

Sammy and all of his Sanctuary friends need people with extra big hearts to help us give them their second chance at life. A major part of what we do here at the Sanctuary is provide ongoing medical support and treatment for all the dogs in our care. We work closely with our Veterinary team to maintain a good quality of life for our Sanctuary residents for as long as they are with us. 

Only with your help, can we continue our mission of giving unwanted, abused, neglected, senior, hospice and special needs animals life for no matter how long they are with us. More than ever, your support is critical!
