Happy Birthday Tito

Please join us in wishing our eccentric little man Tito a Very Happy 8th Birthday!

Although Tito’s life history is a mystery to us, we designated his date of rescue as his birthday, and today for possibly the first time in his life he enjoyed a party in his honor.

Tito was a bit unsure about what was going on but, he did enjoy some delicious cupcakes and is already cuddling up to his new toys.

What makes Birthday celebrations so special here at Paws Give Me Purpose? It’s not just a celebration of getting a year older, it’s a celebration of a life!

Our sanctuary residents are given a second chance at life when they arrive here and birthdays celebrate that new life.

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose

Brimming With Personality

Chihuahuas are known to be comical, entertaining, expressive, and loyal little dogs. They love to burrow under blankets, dance on their hind legs, and wave their paws in the air.

Tito is a long hair Chihuahua who arrived at our Sanctuary back in January of 2021 from a shelter; he had been found stray, extremely emaciated, fearful, unsocialized, with severe guarding issues, and was a biter.

The options for him were euthanasia or find a rescue to take him, and due to his behavior no one stepped up for this tiny soul. That is when we received that special call.

Tito is absolutely brimming with personality – a quirky and eccentric vibe unmatched by any other here at our Sanctuary. Tito is a difficult dog, and even though he has learned to trust some of the people who care for him on a daily basis, he is still Tito and that will never change.

Where else can a senior dog like Tito just be himself and not have to worry about being tossed away due to his eccentricities? Where else can a dog like Tito feel safe and loved no matter his nasty little temperament? Even something as simple as a bath with the only handler he trusts has it’s good and bad moments – at his age, we don’t expect that it will ever change and that’s ok.

We believe a difficult dog gives back 10 times the amount of love and now that Tito is beginning to know what love is he is just beginning to give that back.

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose.

Update On Jewel

We just wanted to pop in and give you all a quick update on Jewel as she is back at Paws Give Me Purpose resting and recuperating after a very difficult day.

Jewel did very well during surgery and was able to have 4 out of her 6 tumors removed, was spayed, and had a few loose teeth that were hanging by threads removed.

The tumors will be sent out for biopsy to the lab so we can learn about the type of cancer we are dealing with.

Depending on healing time and biopsy results, the other 2 tumors may be able to be removed in about a month.

In the meantime, Jewel is comfortable and will be loved and spoiled as she should be.

Please continue to send positive thoughts and healing prayers Jewel’s way.
