Sunshine Of Their Lives

Simply enjoying something as essential as the sunshine can be so exciting for the dogs who call Paws Give Me Purpose Inc. home; before coming to us, many of them had never seen sunshine before. We are a place where dogs can finally learn to feel safe, where they learn that not all humans are unkind. They now know what it’s truly like to be loved.

The love and gratitude these special needs pups give back is immeasurable. Because of supporters like you, we have been able to give all the dogs living here in Sanctuary at Paws Give Me Purpose the best gift possible, a new life.

Monthly donors are our best friends and sustainers; they help each animal that comes to us with immediate and sometimes life-threatening needs.

When you become a sponsor, you will make wishes come true for our Sanctuary dogs. Your gift toward their lifetime care in turn helps save more lives than you can imagine.

Join our community of monthly donors and be a hero for our Sanctuary Residents. Your donations have a direct impact on how many dogs we can save. Only with your help can we say yes to more senior/special needs dogs – without you we are nothing.

All the pups living here in Sanctuary thank you for your continued support and for giving us the ability to do what we do.

Special September

The month of September brings many things: cooler weather, back-to-school sales, and it is one of the most popular birthday months here in sanctuary!

Today at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary we celebrated all our September Birthday’s.

Please join us in wishing a very Happy Birthday to Minnie age 14, Abigail age 7, and Zoey age 4!

What makes Birthday celebrations so special here? It’s not just a celebration of getting a year older, it’s a celebration of a life. Our sanctuary residents were given a second chance at life by coming to Paws Give Me Purpose, and these birthdays celebrate that new life.

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose.

Goodbyes Never Get Easier

Today was a very difficult day here in Sanctuary, our beautiful Buttercup gained her Angel wings.

The light in Buttercup’s eyes dimmed very quickly, and she had stopped eating; we knew it was time, but she had a difficult time letting go on her own, so we helped her on her journey to cross the bridge. For us, a heart wrenching kindness for Buttercup to leave this world peacefully with dignity, and surrounded by love.

Above all else, we at Paws Give Me Purpose put quality of life first, and Buttercup most certainly showed us her desire for life and just loved being loved. Even when we know a dog is here in hospice, and there will be an impending passing and are prepared for it, it is still one of the toughest phases we go through – and it never gets easier.

You could say that Buttercup’s best life started the day she arrived at Paws Give Me Purpose. She was the recipient of better things than she could have even doggy-dreamed of. She enjoyed being pampered. Taking warm bubble baths, having her hair brushed, and even wearing a little clip or pony tail was something she waited for; she truly liked feeling pretty.

Buttercup loved going on car rides, sitting in the fresh air sunning herself and lounging on the couch with the other senior girls and her people. She thoroughly enjoyed her home cooked meals; her favorite being pumpkin loaf. And even though she had to take some serious medications twice daily, she did it like a champ, and seemed to know that it was helping her feel better.

Buttercup had a very bright, happy and loving personality and we will alway remember the special light in her eyes and the little smile on her face. Every day the look of gratitude she gave us just melted our hearts and today there is not a dry eye here at our Sanctuary.

Buttercup was truly a beautiful soul inside and out and there is no heart here left without her paw prints. She loved people and dogs alike and they loved her back – every heart here is broken today. Buttercup, you will forever live on in our hearts – you were taken way too soon. We were blessed to have known you and love you.

Thank you to each and every one of you for caring and for being a support to us during this time.
