Welcome Candy

Her name is Candy. She is tiny, frail, and while it’s true she’s a senior dog, she still wants to be loved and enjoy her golden years to the fullest.

Candy is estimated to be over 14 years old and was removed from a hoarding type situation by Animal Control along with several other dogs.

She was found very unkempt, dirty, matted, covered in fleas. Candy is also blind, deaf, missing all of her teeth, has a heart murmur, is extremely underweight and arthritic. Additionally, she was not spayed and has mammary masses.

We can only imagine her suffering, and with all of you by our side, we promise she will NEVER suffer again. Candy is now safe with Paws Give Me Purpose but her journey has just begun.

She is sweet, small, and has been removed from the only life she has ever known; we need your help to make things better for her. Please donate to help us with Candy’s immediate and ongoing care – no amount is too small!

Welcome Snorkel

This weekend, Paws Give Me Purpose officially welcomed Snorkel into our Sanctuary. Huge shout out of gratitude to our volunteers for picking him up and transporting him to us in Southern New Jersey.

Snorkel is yet another senior dog who found himself wandering the streets, tossed out like a piece of trash. Did he just get too old to be loved? Or maybe because he was severely neglected and needed medical care, or was no longer useful for breeding? Whatever the case, this little 13 year old soul was clearly seen as not deserving of dignity.

Snorkel is a 6 pound French Bulldog/Chihuahua mix who is blind due to corneal scarring, suffers from regenerative anemia, has a heart murmur, lower airway disease and one enlarged lung. His spine is hunched from arthritis, and he is missing many teeth. As if that’s not enough, he has bilateral luxating patellas.

The most heartbreaking part to us is that this sweet boy has absolutely suffered for a very long time, yet even though he is blind, he looks up at us with hope in his eyes.

Above all else, we at Paws Give Me Purpose put quality of life first, and Snorkel most certainly has shown us his desire for life, for love and this second chance. Snorkel’s life matters! He isn’t garbage, and we promise he will never suffer again.

We need donations to help Snorkel and other dogs like him who suffer at the hands of careless, heartless people who treat them like objects that can be simply discarded when they are done with them – so please give.
