She walked through our doors barely able to breathe, you could see the sadness in her eyes, yet there was hope in the slow wag of her tail. She must have belonged to someone once, but it’s clear their love for her had an expiration date.
There is something bittersweet about looking into the eyes of a dog who is just waiting for love; Foxy II has been waiting far too long for her chance.
She’s not asking for much more than the necessary care she needs and deserves, a cozy place to spend the rest of her life, no matter how long or short. She deserves a gentle hand that will hold her and never let go. Someone who doesn’t automatically see an expiration date and will love her beyond measure.
Foxy (Philadelphia ACCT -A-259292) is safe now here at PGMP Sanctuary. Upon her arrival here she was immediately rushed to the Vet where she was placed in oxygen. It was discovered she has highly infectious bronchitis, a collapsed trachea, and intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) at L2-L3, which is in the lower back.
For now, the main focus is continuing treatment for her respiratory infection and monitoring her cough and breathing. The collapsing trachea may require ongoing management depending on how her symptoms progress, and we will monitor Foxy for any back pain, reluctance to jump or climb stairs, weakness in the hind legs, difficulty walking, or problems urinating or defecating.
