Meet Joy

No matter their age, appearance, or health status, our goal at PGMP Sanctuary is to provide respect and dignity to all beings.

This week’s Wishlist Wednesday is brought to you by one of our newest Sanctuary residents, Joy.

After over 13 years of love and loyalty, Joy found herself repaid with a death sentence. She was someone’s baby once, but it seems although she loved unconditionally the feeling was not so mutual.

Her body frail, her soul crushed – once again we are picking up the pieces of a broken heart while trying to heal a badly neglected body.

Joy’s condition is beyond heartbreaking. She is blind, deaf, and although spayed, has mammary tumors. Additionally she has severe dental disease and she cannot walk on her own due to a severely hunched posture. From what we have learned, Joy lived in a crate and never saw the outside.

It is way past time for Joy to have this second chance at life, to be comfortable for as long as she is with us, and to feel loved beyond measure!

Please consider making a donation to help us with little Joy’s care or shopping our wish lists to donate food, enrichment, and more to our Sanctuary residents; everyone of these precious souls that walks through our doors deserves this chance to be happy.

This week’s most in need items are: Tide Hygienic laundry pods, Best Bully gullet sticks, Blue Buffalo Nudges chicken jerky cuts, Wuffes Advanced hip/joint support and XS diapers for Joy.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to all of our amazing supporters who generously sent much needed items over the past week.

Several Anonymous Donors, Donna Weseman, and to Melissa Morris for the extra special food donation for our Sanctuary resident Wanda.

From all the dogs here at Paws Give Me Purpose, thank you for thinking of us and making our lives better.

Welcome Wanda

Born into a life of mistreatment and neglect, Wanda was kept in a small enclosure where she missed out on the simple joys every dog deserves in life. Over time, her tiny body began to deteriorate causing her great discomfort and since she was no longer useful as a money maker, she was thrown out in a box onto the streets in the most abysmal condition.

Found shaking in fear, she was taken to the shelter. Her condition was so grave and the shelter so full, so they turned to us for help. How could we possibly say no to this tiny living being?!

Estimated to be about 14 years of age, Wanda is emaciated, barely has any hair, her skin red and raw on top while her underside skin is black and necrotic. She has mild mucoid discharge from her eyes and her mouth is seriously infected. She has only a few teeth left and because she was never spayed, has a few mammary masses present as well as some lameness in her back end.

Wanda has endured lifelong suffering, yet her spirit shines through and she has remained strong; she held onto hope for brighter days. And now that hope has turned into reality – Wanda is safe here with us at PGMP Sanctuary.

Wanda is receiving the urgent medical care she needs and deserves; she will continue to receive only the best medical care and rehabilitation possible – we won’t settle for anything less. Our promise is to provide her with a safe and loving environment for the rest of her life and we are committed to keeping this promise.

We ask that you please consider making a donation to help us with little Wanda’s care – we cannot do this without YOU!

Meet Bianca

Today is Tongue Out Tuesday, and one of our newest Sanctuary residents is popping in to show off her tongue and introduce herself to you all.

Meet Bianca! At 14+ years of age, this precious little girl found herself behind shelter walls when her family split and neither of them wanted her.

In addition to picking up the pieces of her broken heart, the level of neglect that she has endured is beyond our comprehension. It is clear she was used for breeding, she was matted with feces, covered in masses, heart murmur, 3 rotted teeth left in her seriously infected mouth, and a fistula up through her sinuses. How does anyone justify treating her this way?!

Bianca saw our Veterinary Team today to receive the medical care she needs and deserves. We are working to make sure she is comfortable and feeling her best so that she can enjoy her remaining golden years to the fullest.

Paws Give Me Purpose relies on donations from people like you who are willing to spend their hard-earned money to help animals in dire need like Bianca, and we really need your help now more than ever.

Please consider donating toward Bianca’s care – we cannot continue to help these angels without you!
