Yugi Pupdate

Hospice is not about giving up, it’s about focusing on comfort and giving them the best quality of life, this is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose.

Yugi arrived a broken senior soul, both inside and out, but now he is beginning to heal! The “ball and chain mass” has been removed from his leg and the bandages were removed last night. For the first time today he got out of bed and did the tiniest prance.

This was not by any means a surgery that will cure him, but it will make him more comfortable and give him the best quality of life for as long as he is with us. The mass has been sent out for biopsy so we can identify exactly what we are dealing with as well.

Our promise to Yugi is to provide a safe and loving environment for the rest of his life for however long he is with us. With all of YOU by our side we will make it happen! Thank you for giving us the ability to do what we do.

Please consider making a donation to help us with Yugi’s current Vet bill and his continued care.

Yugi deserves this second chance to have good times and make only the best memories.

Surgery Day

Today the Paws Give Me Purpose Team is asking you all to send the strongest positive thoughts and prayers to both Yugi and Julie as they head into surgery to remove masses in order to give them a better quality of life.

These are crucial and necessary surgeries but are not without risk. To say we are on edge would be an understatement.

It goes without saying that we will do whatever is necessary to help them both feel their best and be the most comfortable they can be after surgery so they may continue to live out their golden years to the fullest.

Meet Julie

This is Julie. She was recently surrendered to the Philadelphia ACCT Shelter for not the first, but SECOND time in her life. This time it was due to her poor health. She was noted to be wheezing and is suffering from a mass that has ruptured.

Why was this mass left on her? Why did her owner allow it to grow and rupture? We have so many questions, but no answers. All we do know is this beautiful senior soul deserved so much better than the life of being dumped by the humans who promised her love and care.

What matters now is Julie (shelter name Golden Girl) is safe here with us at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary and she will NEVER be let down again.

At 13+ years of age, Julie has been diagnosed with a host of medical issues, including a systolic heart murmur, cardiomegaly, severe dental disease, nuclear sclerosis and the ruptured mass mentioned previously.

Julie will be heading into surgery this coming Monday and she needs us to make things better for her. As always here at Paws Give Me Purpose, our driving force is our supporters. Please consider making a donation to Julie’s care. With the difficult medical cases that have recently walked through our doors, and continue to come in, your support is critical more than ever!

Some people may view hospice as giving up, as resigning to a fate. Hospice is not about giving up, it’s about focusing on comfort and giving them the best quality of life.

Julie deserves this second chance to have good times and make only the best memories.
