Geraldine, Philadelphia ACCT-A-262378, arrived through our Sanctuary door in extremely dire condition. She was literally an end of life dog sitting in a kennel who was deteriorating at an alarming rate.
When the shelter reached out to us for help, it was an immediate yes. No dog, no matter their age, appearance, or health status should die alone in a shelter.
A few days with 24/7 medical and comfort care and a great deal of TLC, we are beginning to see a spark of life from this precious girl. She’s finally eating, and even showed us her pretty fangs when we tried to offer her chicken by hand; she wanted to do it herself.
Because she came into the shelter as a stray, her history is a mystery. What we do know so far is she is immobile, emotionally shut down, has extremely bad skin and is anemic.
We are working hard here at PGMP Sanctuary to provide Geraldine with comfort, relieve any pain and give her the dignity and respect she deserves.
