Meet Sierra

After 15 years of loyalty and love, Sierra (Philly ACCT-A-103927) found herself alone. Her cozy home vanished and she was surrendered to a shelter when she needed her family the most. Sierra was a last minute save, but is now safe here with us at Paws Give Me Purpose Sanctuary.

Sierra is not just a dog. She’s a gentle soul who’s lived a full life and deserves to spend her golden years wrapped in love—not heartbreak. She didn’t deserve this disappointment, she deserves a couch, a hand to hold, and someone to look her in the eyes and tell her everything will be ok.

While death, a part of life, is something we can not change, we do have a choice for these sentient beings and how they die. No dog no matter their age, appearance, or health status should die alone in a shelter.

We do not believe Sierra is ready to leave this world just yet. She is still wagging her tail, leaning her head into our hands and sighing with trust. She deserves this second chance to have good times and make only the best memories.

Some people view hospice as giving up, as resigning to a fate. Hospice is not about giving up, it’s about focusing on comfort and giving them the best quality of life.

We work hard here at PGMP Sanctuary to provide comfort, relieve any pain and help precious souls like Sierra in their remaining days live with dignity and respect.

This is what we do here at Paws Give Me Purpose not because it’s easy, but because so many others can’t.

Love to hear from you!
