Welcome Wayne

Today has been designated as Wayne’s World Monday at the Sanctuary simply because this handsome boy is now happy, extra comfortable and finds the food excellent!

At 16 years of age, Wayne found himself surrendered to a shelter by those who promised to love him forever. It was clear he had been neglected for a long time.

He was pulled to safety by Remember Me Rescue NY who discovered that Wayne was in need of Hospice care and they immediately reached out to us for help. Of course we said yes and have taken Wayne under our wing and into our hearts.

While his chest x-rays look very scary, there is so much fluid you cannot even see his heart, Wayne has been started on a medication protocol. Additionally, he will be receiving O2 therapy to help him remain comfortable.

Miracles happen every day here at PGMP and Wayne is clearly a fighter with a strong will to live deserves this second chance to be loved and cherished.

Wayne hopes you all had a marvelous Monday. He wishes you all a  week ahead filled with an abundance of magnificent moments and miracles.

Welcome Tammy

Many of our Sanctuary residents walk through our doors quietly, their bodies oh so fragile. It is clear that their lives have been simply difficult and their hearts shattered because of the overwhelming amount of neglect and suffering they have had to endure. Tiny Tammy is no different.

Tammy arrived with a burden far more than her body size should have to carry. She is blind, her body frail. She has a pretty serious heart condition, along with many other super senior dog ailments – her life still matters and she more than deserves to live the life she should have had all along. As long as her beautiful spirit wants to live we will fight alongside her to give her the best final chapter of life.

Despite everything, she eats well, takes her meds like a champ and her personality is beginning to bloom. When you hold her, she melts right into you resting her little head on your shoulder like it was always meant to be.

Tammy is safe with us now, and she has already seen our Vet Team. She is learning that the world can be good, that love can be without conditions, and that she belongs.

Please consider making a donation towards Tammy’s care. Your donations keep the promise we make to every precious soul that walks through our Sanctuary doors – you are safe now!

Welcome Kaya

She walked through our Sanctuary doors yesterday, a victim of cruelty. A stray and brought in to the Babylon Animal Shelter, Kaya, a broken soul needed us. Of course we said yes and took her under our wing. And yes, a cruelty case has been filed.

We were asked by the shelter to step in when the story was already heavy, when the bills are large, the outcomes uncertain; compassion is the only clear directive.

Kaya needs immediate and ongoing medical care; and our Vet Team will be here tomorrow to begin that necessary care. This is not a quick fix, but it is a chance, a second chance at life. A chance for comfort, stability, and dignity in the time she has left.

Her body was neglected, but her heart is still kind. She is exhausted, but she is safe here with us and she will receive the comfort, medical care, and calm she has always deserved.

Please. If you are reading this, if you have ever loved a dog, if you believe that one gentle, brave senior’s life matters – donate, share, do whatever you can to send her love.

Your donations keep the promise we make to every precious soul that walks through our doors – to provide a safe and loving environment for the rest of their lives and we are committed to keeping this promise.
